Downtown Development Office

The Downtown Development Office is an advocate for Downtown Garland.

The DDO coordinates revitalization efforts, policy development, promotional and marketing activities, small business support, and other initiatives that contribute to a growing Downtown Garland.

Primary responsibilities include managing the project plan for the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIF #1), collectively representing Downtown's interests, and coordinating efforts to promote Downtown Garland as a destination.

Beginning in December 2021, the City began construction on a long-awaited Downtown redesign project. This will bring new life to the Downtown Square and renovate the surrounding streetscapes to improve the pedestrian experience. Construction is expected to take up to 24 months.

Visit GarlandTx.gov/DowntownConstruction for updates and important information as the project continues.
